After being in Windhoek for such a long time, I was really looking forward to attending a conference in Capetown at the end of June. A big city, the ocean and definitely the table mountain - what more do you need? (Well, the conference was actually the main purpose of the trip, but there must always be time to see some more than the conference venue). Unfortunately it is winter right now in southern Africa and the weather was really bad. When we arrived in Capetown, it was cold and raining, looking like that:

For most of the time it stayed cold and rainy, only one afternoon was nice and sunny and I used that opportunity to explore downtown Capetown.

And, since we stayed almost at the waterfront, the harbour and a really nice mall were very close.

I couldn't leave Capetown without a picture of the table mountain. Most of the times it was covered by clouds, which also made it impossible to go up there, but here are at least some fotos with and without the "tablecloth".

But I definitely have to go back to Capetown in summer to see all the things I missed this time.
